The COVID-19 pandemic has laid bare the consequences of the world's over reliance on China for its supply chains for everything from children's toys to critical medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.

Our dependence on China has has been used to facilitate an unprecedented transfer of wealth from democratic countries to the most powerful totalitarian state the world has ever seen. China has used this stolen wealth to fund its campaign to dominate the world.

They have used the forced transfer of intellectual property to propel a massive military buildup with which it increasingly intimidates its neighbors. In the last few years they have built a domestic surveillance state previously seen only in dystopian science fiction movies.

They are now exporting that surveillance state abroad through companies such as Huawei.

They have industrialized some of the most abhorrent human rights abuses carried about by a state since World War 2 including the incarceration of millions of prisoners of conscience.

Prominent human rights organizations such as Human Rights Watch believe China is harvesting organs from these prisoners - including hearts - and selling them on the world's black markets.

Every branch of the U.S. military believes a war with China is inevitable if we continue to fund its rise. We must start now to confront and disentangle ourselves from China or we may go to war with a much stronger China - quite possibly before children born today are grown.

The good news is that there is still time. It starts with being conscious of where the products you buy come from.

My campaign is to build an online shopping network that caters to companies that manufacture here in the U.S., from our allies around the globe and from China's regional rivals such as South Korea, India, Vietnam and others. It is by investing in our own people and our own economies that the world can arrest the rise of one of the most evil superpowers in history.

This first round of funding will be used to develop a web platform and to start the marketing and business research necessary to embark on this project.
